SMH: Video Model Dollicia Bryan Explains How “Red Bottoms” Define Her Success

I came across this interview over at Necole Bitchie and felt the need to share it with you. Video model and self-proclaimed actress Dollicia Bryan stopped by the Joy Daily Show and explains why you need to own “red bottoms” if you want to elevate yourself.  Her comments were in response to the Maino and Rosa Acosta beef that took place last year over cheap shoes.

Okay, I’m looking at know I want to be up there. I want to be compared…I want to surpass. When you elevate in your career, you elevated in your fashion. You have a higher competition. Like Beyoncé, she didn’t start out in red bottoms but what does she wear now? She didn’t have $30,000 purses before but what does she do now? She elevated herself.

When I was capable of purchasing…not somebody else but me purchasing, I know the head manager in Louboutin. They invite me to events that nobody goes to; I get shoes before anybody else. I don’t have to have a guy go out and get them. When I was able to afford it, I went and I started purchasing them.

Now, I know it’s a big controversy with a lot of video girls that have said,”You guys are acting like you have all this money and this lifestyle is so wonderful and you’re giving the wrong impressions to these girls. You guys can’t afford this. Why are you stuntin’? I don’t have to wear red bottoms to be fly.” You absolutely don’t have to. You don’t have to wear them. If I’m capable of purchasing that and still doing my job, I’m going to do that. If you’re not capable but you still want to be competition, I don’t know what to tell you. You just have to step up your game.

It’s so funny because it was said, “I don’t do them. I’m trying to retire my mom. I would never get red bottoms.” These big crying stories back and forth. Maino got involved; that’s how it all started. He said the same thing. You know, I can’t take you around events I go to with Beyoncé if you got Forever 21 shoes. I can’t do that. Don’t think you’re the baddest thing, what can we do?

That’s where it started. There are so many beautiful women out there but what sets you aside from them?

Maybe in her former life Dollicia wasn’t used to certain things and therefore is easily excited by something as basic as “red bottoms” or Christian Louboutins. Ladies, there is absolutely nothing wrong with living in your means and not wearing “red bottoms.” Owning a pair is definitely not a measure of how successful you are. A lot of video models can’t afford the lifestyle they portray and end up playing catch 22 with celebs in order to keep up appearances. By the way, I might be wrong but I’m pretty sure Beyoncé doesn’t even know who this chick is.

Dollicia then took to Twitter to defend her lame ass comments by saying:

I feel women in the entertainment should be up on the latest and hottest trends to stay relevant & entertaining!

That why they have “best and worst dressed” on blogs and magazines because entertainers sometimes entertain with fly fashion & trends!

I was speaking to women in entertainment! Not women out of entertainment! Shows like the fashion police on E is here becuz of celebs fashion

I find this even funnier now because anyone who knows who Dollicia is and has seen her on the red carpet knows she has no style!
